Initial Situation

Our Advisory function identified a need to increase female applications and enhance its brand attractiveness among female students. The firm recognized the importance of diversity and inclusion for market competitiveness and aimed to build a recruiting pipeline that reflects these values. However, the challenge is to attract the right candidates in sufficient numbers, ensuring a diverse group that matches the open positions’ requirements.

Action

With our exclusive event, the female students gain insights into our Advisory services and our corporate culture. The highlight? They will take on the role of a consultant and solve a real-life case in a team with our support. If they are interested in a particular area after the event, they will benefit from a fast track in the application process, so they can have a quick and uncomplicated interview with the relevant team.

Outcome

• More comprehensive insight into KPMG
• Sense of community for applicants and a lower barrier to entry due to a female contact person
• Reduces uncertainties, which is positive in a male-dominated environment
• Fast-track consultant job opportunity at KPMG
• The event is experiencing a high turnout of qualified female students from diverse backgrounds

Initial Challenge

Our main challenge was that the proportion of female students applying for positions in our Advisory function was too low. To address this, we created the “She Advises event,” a new initiative designed to provide female students with an opportunity to gain insight into our consulting world through real-life case studies.

Goals

The event aimed to offer the female applicants a hands-on experience of what it’s like to work in Advisory. Throughout the event, all participants were guided and coached by our experienced female employees, ensuring they received valuable support and mentorship. The goal of this event was to inspire and attract as many talented female students as possible to consider joining our organization, giving them a chance to learn more about our company culture, our various Advisory Women initiatives, and career opportunities.

Approach

With our exclusive “She Advises: Discover Your Career with KPMG” event, the female students gain insights into our Advisory services and our corporate culture. The highlight? If they are interested in a particular area after the event, they could benefit from a fast track in the application process – so they can have a quick and uncomplicated interview with the relevant team. Program:

  • Welcome & Keynote Speech
  • Tips & tricks on presentation skills
  • Case Study
  • Presentation of the results
  • Aperitif & Networking

  • KPMG’s brand was positively reinforced among the target demographic, leading to an increase in female applications.
